We should be able to link actions such as adding, deducting, or redeeming points or cashback to a manager approval workflow.
When an employee performs one of these actions, the assigned manager would receive a real-time notification with the transaction details. The manager could then approve or reject the transaction, and once approved, the system would automatically complete the action.
The approval workflow should also be configurable by employee profile or role. For example, managers could:
Enable auto-approval for trusted employees or specific roles.
Require manager approval for other employees.
Apply approval requirements only above certain point, cashback, or transaction thresholds.
Approve or reject requests directly from the notification.
See who requested the transaction, for which customer, the amount, and the reason or reference provided.
This would create an additional layer of operational control and fraud prevention, while allowing trusted employees to operate without unnecessary friction.
Ideally, every approval should also be recorded in an audit log, showing who initiated the transaction, who approved it, when it was approved, and any related reference or validation data.
